Born on February 4, 2003, in Copenhagen, Denmark, Rasmus Winther Højlund, simply known as Rasmus Højlund, is a Danish professional football player who represents the Denmark national team and Manchester United, an English football club. 

Rasmus Højlund joined the Copenhagen's youth team at a very young age and in 2020, at the age of 17, he made his debut for the club's first team. He later went on to score 5 goals in 32 appearances for the team before joining Sturm Graz, an Austrian club, in January 2022. Later that year, Rasmus Højlund joined Atlanta for €17 million. On July 9, 2023, he signed for Premier League side, Manchester United.

Career

Club Career

Although Rasmus Højlund was born in Copenhagen, he grew up in Hørshlom, Capital Region, and started playing youth football for HUI [ da] and Brøndby, before joining the Copenhagen youth system. 

In October 2020, at 17, Rasmus Højlund made his senior debut for Copenhagen. The following season, he made his debut in European competitions, participating in the UEFA European Conference League (both qualification rounds and tournament) and contributing five goals to the team. 

In January 2022, Rasmus Højlund signed for Austrian club, Sturm Graz, for a fee of around €1.8 million. He later went on to score 12 goals in 21 appearances for the club in all competitions. 

In August 2022, Rasmus Højlund signed for Atlanta, an Italian Seria A club, for around €17 million. He registered his first goal for the club in their 2-0 win over Monza and went on to deliver several convincing performances, most notably scoring 4 goals in 4 consecutive matches. 

On July 9, 2023, Rasmus Højlund signed for Premier League side, Manchester United, for a fee of £64 million plus £8 million in performance related add-ons. On September 3, 2023, he made his debut for the club, coming on as a second half substitute for Anthony Martial. 

International Career

In September 2022, Rasmus Højlund made his international debut for Denmark in a UEFA Nations League match against Croatia. He also featured for Denmark against France in the same tournament. 

In March 2023, during Denmark's UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying match against Finland, Rasmus Højlund, on his first international start, scored a hat-trick in his team's 3-1 win.
