Early Life
Brian Rafat Awadis, popularly known as FaZe Rug, was born on November 19, 1996, in San Diego, California, United States to Ron Awadis (popularly known as Papa Rug) and Sana Awadis (popularly known as Mama Rug). His parents are Chaldean Assyrian immigrants who migrated from Tel Keppe, Iraq, to the United States.
He also has an elder brother, Brandon Awadis (popularly known as Brawadis), who is a YouTuber, basketball enthusiast, and writer for the sports website, VAVEL. Both FaZe Rug and Brawadis spent a major part of their childhood in San Diego but while the latter developed a strong passion for basketball, the former picked interest in video games, particularly Call Of Duty.

FaZe Rug is a YouTuber and the co-owner as well as Director of FaZe Clan.
He started his career as a YouTuber in 2008 when he, along with his elder brother Brawadis, launched a YouTube channel named “fathersonchaldean.” The YouTube channel stopped being active after the first video that was uploaded the day it was created and three others that were uploaded before the end of 2009.
In July 2012, FaZe Rug created his own YouTube channel where he frequently posted short videos of Call Of Duty gameplay. This led to him getting an invite to join FaZe Clan in 2013, a popular eSports organization which he now co-owns.
From December 2014, FaZe Rug started uploading prank videos and by October the following year, he had already surpassed 1 million subscribers on YouTube. In September 2018, he earned the Diamond Play Button award after surpassing 10 million subscribers. Prior to that achievement, FaZe Rug had already gathered over 1 billion total views on his YouTube channel as at July 2017.

He released a song titled “Goin Live” in November 2019, and in January the following year, he released the music video for the song. In June 2020, he appeared as a guest on an episode of MTV's “Ridiculousness.”
In April 2021, FaZe Rug collaborated with popular WWE wrestler, Dominik Mysterio, to create a video titled "Becoming a WWE Superstar for 24 Hours! (ft. Dominik Mysterio)". In the video, he was trained by Dominik Mysterio on how to become a WWE wrestler.
